Plugging along

We were hit with more snow this week.  It is really pretty, but my fingers itch to dig in the dirt and I want to walk in the rain.  While I am waiting I've been working on crafty things inside.  Small steps ahead were made this week.  There is very little done in the bathroom of the Candy house so I made a shelf inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest to start to finish the bathroom. The little blue perfume set on the shelf is by Dale from Dale's Dreams.  Dale makes the sweetest perfume sets. I need to make some towels and maybe get a mirror and comb set for those shelves I think.  Some jars of cotton balls and soaps might be nice too.  Oh-a toothbrush and cup- cannot forget that!  Lots more to do here.
I made a 1/4" scale chair from a kit from Jean Day and a couch from a kit from  thequartersource.com  Here they are in the living room.  Jean also has beautiful digital art in her shop and vintage trims. I found out that I did the chair incorrectly and the seat is too low, so I'll be fixing that this week and adding some cushions to the couch too.

I bought a little plastic 1/4" scale bathroom set for the upstairs bathroom.  So tiny!!  I  used white cardstock to add baseboard to all the rooms.
I really wanted to finish tiling all of the roofing on the Steampunk House, but I didn't make that goal.  It's getting closer though!
Started a painting but didn't get too far.
The reason I didn't get too far on the painting is because I decided that these bugs that I made for the shelf in the craft room needed arms- so I added arms and hands to them all.  I like them much better now- they are still creepy but creepy in a more fun way-lol!

oh Jane- I am jealous! It is only in the 30's here today and we will not get the chance of 40's till the weekend. I'm trying to be patient and remember how busy I am in the spring and summer and enjoy what I can inside now :) Do you garden? Thanks so much for your sweet comment- hope you have a lovely day!

I too am itching to get in the garden. We had some rain and the snow is almost all gone but we are supposed to get more snow in the next couple of days. I love those little bugs as they have your special touch and the picture also looks like it is going to be great. I am not into 1/4 scale nor steampunk but I do love your cupcake house.

Hi Doreen! It is so hard to be patient-isn't it?? Thank you for your sweet comment- especially about the bugs :) Most people think they are a bit strange-but I like their little faces looking at me while I am crafting :) Hope you have a great day and that the sun shines on you----oh and that your snowfall is small :)

oh- Jane! I hope you take time out of that gardening to share on your blog- I LOVE to see other's gardens! My hubby veggie gardens and I spend a lot of my time in the flower garden-but I help out sometimes in the veggies. It's hard for me because I always want to take over-lol! I have to remind myself it's his space all the time.

Hi Kim, Looks like you've been busy again! I really enjoy following your projects. Hopefully your upcoming gardening won't keep you from blogging. :-) Thanks for the links to the various resources too. I look forward to seeing you on Pinterest! xo Jennifer

Hi Jennifer! thanks so much for your sweet comment. I do try to blog regularly in the summer too- just lots more pictures of the garden and a little less minis :) Here in Minnesota you try to spend as much of the summer outdoors so you can remember it in these snowy months! I love seeing you on Pinterest too- your little icon always makes me smile :)

I love the light blue color in your bathroom.
I think it's difficult to work in 1-12 and you can work in 1/4 scala, great respect. Thank you for your link.
We have it cold in Denmark but with high bright sun. I have been so much out and walk and enjoy the sun that I all ready have a little color on the cheeks. I wish you lots of warmth and sunshine.
Hugs

thank you Wyrna :) I don't think I will get too much detail in the 1/4 scale- it's just so tiny...but you never know :) The sun is shining this afternoon here too and I was just thinking about going for a walk in it. Rosy cheeks are a wonderful effect to have- hope your sunshine continues also. The daffodils and tulips will be here soon :) hugs to you!

Ah spring, who doesn't desire for spring? ME toooo!!
Over here there was a lot of snow in the South of The Netherlands, I live in the East, no snow, but an ice cold wind chillfactor -10oC, this cold wind and snow are quite extreme for this month!!
I love the miniatures you made so far, those bugs: fantastic and they are not creepy but funny, Kim! I enjoy following your projects, thanks for sharing!
Hugs, Ilona

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bugs!!!! Not creepy at all but plain adorable. Kim, GREAT job!!!
Don't ever stop making them.

Speaking of creepy, I think my abandoned house may be of the same scale as yours :). But I am making it into a 1:24 shed or 1"12 workroom. Still not sure :)

Lucille- the wallpaper in the bathroom is actually scrapbook paper. It does leave a seam where you have to use a new sheet, but lots of times you can hide that with furniture or a picture on the wall or something. If I see it at the store again I'll let you know and if you are still looking I would be happy to send you some ♥

Lil- thank you!!! I am surprised that people like my bugs- I thought everyone would find me strange :) I'll be showing more pictures of the bathroom because I am concentrating on finishing it right now :)

Ilona- I think your weather is similar to mine- especially right now. It is so hard when Mother Nature gives you a little taste of spring and then says "just kidding"-lol. We are having sunny days at least, even if it is a little chilly. I hope your sun is out too!! Thank you for your sweet comment and visiting me ♥

Sans- thank you! It is funny- I used to make things and never think them strange at all but now sometimes I hesitate to put them on the blog thinking people will think I am an oddball. Really I should just be happy to be an oddball and go with it :) I like the idea of a shed and a workroom- maybe even a combination of both? Minis sure can get our imagination and brains working, right? Hope your week is wonderful!!

Thanks Kim! I finally found a few on line last night and I ordered them. I forgot to mention that I look forward to seeing your painting when it's completed.

aww- thank you Lucille ♥ It is in the weird stage right now, but I hope to get to work on it this weekend. If I can ever help you out on finding something please ask- you are one of the kindest people I know :)

You would maybe like where I live :) Our summers don't get too hot- and if they do it is not for long. The winters seem to last a very long time though :) I have heard people that visit say our summer heat is a humid one though. Thank you for your visit and your sweet comment- hugs back to you!! ♥
