Getting back at it?

I can't believe it's been over a month again since I have posted- I am really struggling to get back into the blogging habit.  So, what have I been up to?  I've been slowly working on my steampunk dollhouse project- right now I am thinking about the wheels for the house and so I've been stalled a bit.  I know I want wagon wheels for the front cab and track wheels like a tank for the back half.  Wagon wheels take patience to make!  Here's my pile of wheel work:
As you can see- I'm not too far along and since I really hate making these wheels I have been working on other things in between.
My sister had a fisher price dollhouse when she was growing up and I had a Tomy dollhouse.  They are both in really bad shape from years of use, so I have been bashing them.  I'm starting with the Fisher Price.  The outside was horrible so I have been using upholstery tack strips to add siding and I'm going to do egg carton bricks on the bottom foundation.  I'm not sure what colors to paint this house after the siding is on-any suggestions?

I've also been plugging along on my craft room.  I have a long table that I can work on in the room.  Since the room is so small I am always looking for the best use of space.  One day I was looking at the table and I thought about how much space is wasted under each end of the table so my hubby built me some simple shelves for that area.  I love them!
I've been adding tags to my jars and suitcases so I can know what each contains at a glance.
I've also been working on some fun things in this room.  I have a LIV doll that I am going to eventually make into Marie Antionette so I have started to work on a scene for her.  The other doll is made by the incredibly talented Patricia from  I plan to add a footstool for the LIV doll here as well as some tables full of all kinds of cakes and other treats.  This project will take me awhile, but it's something I can work on off and on as the mood strikes.
Finally, I caved in and bought a Blythe doll.  The seller was someone I had purchased things from before and the price was so good for a custom Blythe that I jumped at the chance.  I'm still shocked that I won the auction.  I have named her Susie Mae and I am working on a closet for her on one of the bookshelves in my room.  I'll be adding a dowel for a curtain rod and making some hangers for the few dresses I already have for her.

So....that's what I have been up to.  Hopefully I'll do a better job of trying to update this blog with progress on all my projects.  I miss blogging, but for some reason it's really hard to jump back into it once you stop for so long!  Before I end this post I'll add one last photo of the black eyed susans in my fall garden.  They are so beautiful!
