Candy House Updates

Last week I worked just a little bit on the Candy House.  I need to get back to finishing the outside, but the inside is just so fun to work on!  I managed to think about starting a path from the front door and started bricking the chimney before my attention span for the outside of the house was used up.  I'm thinking about a lifesaver type path out the door, but not firm on that yet- I have to play with it a bit more.  The chimney is a labor of love- almost worse than the shingles, but I think the hard work and patience will pay off in the end.

I also worked some more on the tile in the kitchen- still not finished, but it's looking a little better.  The living room received a new table--- not done painting it yet--- and I found a little radio in my stash of minis that I thought would work perfectly there.

I painted the shelf for the bathroom and glued it to the wall- no changing my mind now!  I also started working a little more on the playroom.  This will be my favorite room to work on- I am saving it for the last because I am excited to make the toys and other goodies that will fill this room up.

After working on the Candy House I switched gears and started working on June's Creativity Challenge for January.  You can find it here if you would like to play along:  http://acreativedreamer.blogspot.com/2011/01/january-creativity-invitation-prompt.html  The theme is white and I'm doing at least 2 pieces that I plan to also give away- so stay tuned for the big reveal and a giveaway soon!  I really love how the first piece turned out--hope the second one goes as well :)

You completely amaze me with each of your new projects. This house is great! I love it. I think I asked this before, but I don't remember your answer. Do you sell these houses?

Love your candy house. It's been awhile since I've worked on any miniature projects . . . I go through spurts. Life size to miniature . . .

Have a great day!!!

Zlatica- thank you! I am always so amazed by your work too- it always speaks to my heart :)

Laura- thanks sweetie- I wish you could move in too! Mini life seems much more fun than real life some days :) hugs back girl!

Julia- I don't sell my houses- I'm really not good enough for resale and I would worry so much about shipping. My crafts are really my outlet in life and what makes me happy- I much prefer to give things I make away :) Thank you so much- are you still thinking of a fairy house? You know I want to contribute something still, right?

Claudia- Thank you!! I can't wait to see you work on your house!

Marsha- I do the same! I used to be obsessive about my art journal and mixed media, and then I started doing minis again and it keeps calling to me. I always say do what is calling to your heart because you'll have more fun and the results will be better. Thank you for your sweet compliment!

Thank you Eileen! It's really so much fun! I'm looking forward to your interview still- thank you for emailing me- sorry I have not replied to you yet!

Lataina- Thank you! ♥

Your candy house looks like such fun. I love that chimney! I have to concentrate on one area at a time and work on one room at a time. You have the whole house coming together and it is more fun that way. I love the way your shabby chic is turning out. I have never tried that.

Kim, this is too cute! It makes me want to be a little girl again. Well, that's everyday when I have to cook a meal and do laundry, but that's beside the point. What a talent you have. You are inspiring ~ Hmm... what should I pick for a hobby?!

Hi Kim! This little house is just darling. I hadn't been on your blog before and at first glance thought you were doing a child size house (wouldn't that be sweet too!). After getting further into it I realized it was a mini. I love mini's. Thanks for stopping by! Connie

I just love how it's coming along. :) The chimney will be worth all the hard work, I'm sure, it's already looking nice.
My favorite part is also decorating the interior, when you get to play and move things around.

I'm late to the party, but had to stop in and tell you how darling this house is. You are doing such a great job with it, Kim. It makes me smile just to look at it. You're very talented, my friend. :)

Doreen- thank you!!! I try so hard to work like you do, but I get impatient and just have to work on what calls to me- lol! I decided I better get back to working on the outside or the poor house may never have complete shingles! I look forward to seeing your new house progress!

Ascension- thank you!!! Thank you for the award also- running behind again but I will post soon. You are sooo sweet!!

Minnie Kitchen- thank you! It is Hansel and Gretel inspired you know- I googled for images of Hansel and Gretel for inspiration :)

Tammy- I don't have children to care for- that makes a big difference in being able to keep acting like a child :) What calls out to you and you cannot wait to do? That's how creating is for me- I actually feel sad when I don't make anything for awhile. Do you like to cook? I think that would be a great hobby- but it takes time and I never want to give up my art time-lol!

Connie- thank you for stopping by! I just love your blog so much!

Maia- thank you!!! When I get to the playroom I'm going to choose one of your wonderful creations for it- I'm thinking maybe a music box :)

Dani- I'm working on a letter to send you some creative spirit- now if I can just get it finished and over to the post office!
