Friends and Healthy Thinking

I wasn't going to post a Healthy Thinking today .  I'm working on being healthier and I'm keeping my attitude positive most days.  However, I wanted to talk about how important friends are in Healthy Thinking too.  I treasure the friendships I have made from blogging so much- I've met so many wonderful people and I feel a special connection to a lot of the bloggers I have met.  You see, I live with just my husband.  We have pets, but no children.  I have a couple close friends in real life, but not many.  I spend a lot of time with my husband- we work together and we tend to be "home-bodies"---preferring to work on projects at home or snuggle in for a movie at home rather than going out. Sometimes it's hard to talk things out with my hubby because we are together so much.  The opportunity to talk with friends online, to ask questions, get advice and support and to even vent frustrations is such an important thing to me.  If I didn't have such wonderful friends here in blogland I would keep a lot of these emotions and frustrations inside and eventually I would probably flip out.  Talking about life to a friend is sometimes different than talking about it with your husband.  So this post is a big thank you to the friends I have in blogland and for each and every comment you all leave.♥

You get back what you put out there and you are a super supportive friend so it's only right you get some back.

Thank you for sharing this piece of your private life with us.
We spend most of our time together with my man as well. But I know that he is not the right person to talk with on a topic: art and creative stuff. I´m also very grateful to all of my blog friends... I´m very happy you are my friend. :)

Oh Kim! You are such a good friend to us, it makes it easy to return the 'favor'. I have one friend in the real world that I talk to...and the rest of my friends are here in blogland! I'm like you. I don't know what I'd do without everyones support:)

Hugs!!

I agree Kim, on-line friends sure do help. I became ill at the age of 17, sometimes I don't set foot out of my house for weeks, if it wasn't for internet companionship I'd go stark staring crazy. Like you I live with one spouse, I also have (currently) 6 dogs and 2 guinea pigs.

How true that is. My children have all grown and now there is just my husband and I, our dog and two cats. We do not go out at all and really have no friends as he tends to be a loner and stay at home. We are each other's best friend. (My daughter is my other best friend). But I too find a lot of comfort in my blog friends as there are things you can't discuss with your husband and it is nice to be able to talk to others through the blogs.

Thats such a lovely post, Kim. As you know, I haven't been well lately as well and I have had loads of support from my blogger friends. It's really nice that I can give support back too :)
I agree with Susan, if it wasn't for my internet friends I would go stir crazy, being home alone all day too!
Sending you a huge hug (((0~0)))
We are all here to help you through this and you will get there.

Kim- I'm really glad to count you as a friend. When I see your picture on your blog it feels like I've known you forever already! I keep my circle of close friends small- on purpose- not that I don't like most people. I feel badly that I don't get to spend enough time with them as it is!

You have so many freinds because you are such a good friend yourself xxxx

I feel exactly the same as you though. I am at home all day and know nobody here. My neighbors are nice but all young Moms and we have nothing in common at all.

Yes Mick and I talk but some things we have to say just doesn't interest the other...that is where my mini freinds and his skydiving friends come in :-)

We're pretty much homebodies too. We love our home and our pets and just can't think of anywhere else we'd rather be.

Blogging is now my life-love-work and I appreciate - like you - the caring and talented people I've met in the blogosphere ... like you, Kim!

Anytime I feel like quitting blogging and I feel frustrated by life all I have to do is think of all of you. Even though I have never met any of you in person, I would feel a void if I didn't have my blogging friends in my life at this point. Sometimes I tell you guys things I don't tell anyone in real life- you are all so special to me and I appreciate your comments on this post. Wish I could give you all a big hug!

Ahhhh Kim. You just did give us all a big hug. And here is one back at you <<<<<>>>>>> (at least that is supposed to represent a hug) We are with you girl - every step of the way. You have been a big supporter of mine and I really appreciate you and I treasure our friendship even though we have never met. :)

Kim, I so connected to this post. I can so relate to this because I know how much support and encouragement and love I have found here...My kids keep laughing at me because they say I talk about my 'friends' (blog land) as if I know them. I tell them I DO..I just haven't met them face to face that's all. Sometimes I feel I'm more connected with those I've meet 'here' than in my 'real' world. Like they 'get me', while here in the real world, well they 'tolerate' me..
