New Family and Wasted Time

I have spent most of this week sick.  What a waste of time.  I'm behind on reading all the wonderful blogs I follow, I'm behind on laundry and housework, I'm behind on swap items to get out the door and the poor candy house has hardly been touched.  I was a big girl and did some laundry and made a big pot of vegetable soup, so now I get my reward of catching up on blogs and maybe a little mini swap creating time.  Since I don't have anything productive to show you this week I though maybe you would like to meet the newest member of my family.  This is Miko.  He is a Pomeranian and his owner could not keep him and needed to find him a home.  He's 8 months old and I have to tell you that I am so lucky- he minds very well, he sleeps through the night without whining or barking, he seems to adore us already and it's only been one day.  I'm wondering if he was bounced around a lot because it seems as if he has no anxiety at all about entering our new family.  Since he's so small I'm hoping to be able to bring him to work with me- it will depend on whether or not he barks constantly.  So far it seems he barks just a few times when someone comes in, then when I tell him no he lies down and behaves.   Am I really lucky?  Aren't Pomeranians notoriously barking dogs?  Anyhow- my heart is lost to him already- he's such a cutie!

Miko is adorable...I don't know much about dogs at all...I am a cat person ...but I do know if he isn't' yappy or barky that is good in my book :-)

He is so sweet! You are very lucky. :)

So sorry you have been ill. :( I say, you don't have to do any chores. ;)

I had to go back and do a double take on the dog. I thought it was a mini, well, it kinda is. :)

So glad you're feeling better. Miko is sooo adorable and yes you are really lucky. Pomeranians are incrediably yappy. My grandmother's neighbor had one and that dog yapped constantly. He will need brushing alot tho so I hope he like it. He's just gorgeous.
Hugs,
Lainie

I am so sorry that you have been ill and I hope you are much better now. Your little fellow is so cute and he will bring much happiness but he will need a lot of brushing. Our dog is supposed to be a yappy type too but she does not yap very much. I guess it all depends on what you let them away with.

Oh Kim, he is so cute!!! I thought these dogs barks a lot... you are really lucky. I believe he will be a very good friend of you.
Hope you are feeling much better - and don´t blame yourself for a waste of time... sometimes we just need to relax... and the illness makes us lie in the bed to have a rest...

I'm sorry you're sick! I've been thinking about you, but I am so far behind on reading blogs! I love your new family member. My daughter, who has the new baby, who I am still visiting has a dog that is part Pomeranian. He isn't as much of a barker as he used to be, but oh my! He really used to drive me nuts. He is a really funny dog, though. He's a bit cranky right now, I suppose because of the newest addition to the family. He already had to get used to the almost 3 year old, and now another one!!!!!
I am thinking of making a fairy house outside at my house. I went to a museum in CT last spring and saw an amazing exhibition of outdoor fairy houses and communities that had been done by local artists. I would love some ideas from you since you do such beautiful, detailed miniature work. I think my grands would really get a kick out of this when they come to visit.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend!!!

Miko is SOOOOOOO cute! He kinda looks like Cheech actually. :)

He must have been bounced around. I know that Cheech would be mortified if we gave him away.
I'm his Mummy. :)

I just know that Miko is going to love living with you guys. He will be your baby for sure. :)

Hi Kim, hope you're feeling better now? I have also had a mad last week, lots of stress, fallen behind with the laundry, and had a mad panic last night to get my work clothes done in time for today! It has been one of those weeks! Here's hoping for a better week this week!

I love Miko. he's really cute! And gorgeous fur! He reminds me of a fox in his face, a young cute one! And he sounds perfect - so well behaved! I don't know anything about Pomeranians, so couldn't tell you how they are supposed to behave, but so glad you have a gorgeous new addition to your family! :)

Kim my friend. I'm so glad you're feeling better. I know you'll be back up to speed in no time. Take care of yourself, okay?

Miko is quite the lad. What a cutie. What a heart you have to take in an animal in need. Kudos.

Hey Kim, are you feeling better? I too just had time to try and catch up on all the blogs that I have missed. :) I see this was posted a while back :).

Miko is a darling and I am glad you had company when you are not feeling well :).

Get well soon and I hope to see you more. Missya!

thank you everyone for all your well wishes. I had a bit of a relapse this week- and with a new puppy time has flown away from me. I've been drinking tons of cough syrup and hoping it's almost over now (?)- but man am I behind on blogs- I may have to just start from here and move on! Miko is indeed too good to be true- I cannot believe how well he minds us and how little he barks. We are working with one or two barks and then we sternly say "no- quiet" and touch his muzzle, and to my amazement it is working pretty good! Two of my cats love him already-as well as my large dog- but the 3rd cat is holding out and absolutely hates him :) Hoping to get a new post up soon- thank you all- you are such wonderful friends!!!

OMG Kim, YAY!!! I looooooove Pomeranians :D They are notoriously barky but I've met quite a few that aren't. I guess it just depends. Lucky you to get such a sweet mannered boy! We're going to need LOTS of Miko updates hee hee! I am so happy for you :)

Glad you're feeling better too!!
