candy house progress

I had a bit of a relapse this week, but I think I am finally feeling better.  I've had the chance to do a little bit of work on the candy house- and a little work on some flowers I'm really late with in a swap.  I can't show you the flowers, but I can show you the house.  I painted and glued on some shingles- I really like how they look!  I also added a frosting effect around one of the windows and started adding some frosting along one side of the house.  I need to make the stained glass cupcake in the large octogon window, but I'm avoiding it because I have no idea how I'm going to do it.  I'm thinking maybe those gallery glass paints?  Does anyone else have a better suggestion?
Miko is doing well with the new family.  He really does not bark a lot, and I've been told more than once that I am very lucky because Pomeranians do tend to bark.  He gets along with the cats well and my other dog Chester ( a yellow lab, golden retriever mix) absolutely adores him.  It's so funny to see them playing- the tiny little dog chasing the big dog all around.  I'm so grateful to have him- he's stolen my heart already :)

Your Candy House is lovely. LOVE the shingles.
I had a golden retriever for years, bless his soul, he was wonderful and got along with all the other animals I had. They are just special that way. He was so special all I had to do was snap my fingers and he would do whatever I wanted. Yours is BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you for commenting on the song.
I love the house. It's soooo Yummy:~)!
Hugs,

Your house is looking great Kim! I got all mega excited when I saw your update! haha.
I'm loving the frosting too!

You could try drawing on a cupcake on a piece of acetate/perspex glass with a marker pen and then carefully colour it in with coloured pens or paints. I know there are a lot of people who have blogs who do stained glass, so have a quick browse to see if anyone can be more helpful than me.

I hope you figure out a way soon and I'm seriously eager to see it!

Your candy house is coming right along. Love the shingles.

About the windows. I use Rik Pierce's method. You cut golfer's lead weight tape into very narrow strips. It has an adhesive back. Then you place your window over the pattern and follow the lines with strips of the tape on both sides. Next you use Sharpie perminent markers for the color. And last, you paint the opposite side with clear nail polish. They are very realistic when finished.

The shingles or are they the "frosting" you are referring to ? sure makes your house look really chirpy and cheery. I really like the idea!

So good to hear you are getting better, Kim :).

I think Casey's idea is great. I don't know if you want to try a short cut and of course, not a very sound method but if the glass space is a bit small for painting, maybe you can try those transparent stickers? Not sure how that'll work , though :).

Thank you everyone for your sweet words!!! I really appreciate them- they spur me on and keep me excited and moving forward :)

Dani- Chester does look a lot like Spook :) Life is busy for me too- don't worry. We'll catch up soon, I promise ♥

Wendy- LOL!!! If you only knew how much mischief was constantly on Miko's mind. I am thinking I am possibly crazy for saying yes to a new puppy- but now I love him already so he is here to stay I guess.

Laura- of course you could move in! I'd have to put you to work baking shingles though :)

If I can find some of the lead tape I'm going to try out Casey's idea....wonder if I can buy it online if I can't find it locally. Thanks again everyone!!!
