I'm popping in this morning to say that some of my comments are showing up on blogs and some are not. I cannot even figure out a pattern to it. My apologies if it seems if I have deserted or am ignoring anyone- I am just figuring out that it is happening on more than one blog I follow. One blog I think it might be happening off and on to is my friend Doreen from http://doreensminiatures.blogspot.com Doreen- if you have not had any comments from me I just wanted to tell you that I cannot wait to see your new puppy! Sometimes blogger is frustrating :)
"The rules are simple. Just pick three friends - I know that's hard! Choose someone who has inspired you or brought joy into your life. Let them know how much you appreciate them by giving them this award and ask them to pass it on! Then please link back to this post so I can see who receives this award! That's it! Hope you enjoy sharing this award with your friends!"
I will admit up front on this award that I cheated- my apologies to Kathi!!!! 3 is VERY hard!!!
I had to think quite a bit on this one. I have met so many wonderful people- I could pick a lot more than 3!!! In the end I choose 3 4 people that have been very sweet to me and have reached out beyond our blogs to become good friends. I am cheating twice-because I pass this award back to Tiffany. Tiffany has been very helpful to me in projects I have been working on- but beyond that she is so similar to me in many ways and such a wonderful person. Thank you for thinking of me Tiffany! Here goes:
Laura from http://sunshineshangout.blogspot.com/ I met Laura very early on in my blogging and I treasure her for her friendship as well as for her ability to make me smile and laugh. I wish she lived closer to me because I know we could get into a lot of trouble together.
Patricia from http://papillonbleuuk.blogspot.com Patricia is soooo incredible. She has shown me such kindness without expecting anything in return. She reminds me that we all need to dream and play and to see the beauty in life and I love her for that. We should always surround ourselves with people that make us smile and see hope and beauty and magic.
Eva from http://prunellascreation.blogspot.com Eva is another person that can make me smile even on my worst day. Eva is brimming with creativity that shouts to be released. I am in awe of her ability to create a story behind her work. Eva works magic in her artwork and her writing and it blossoms out and envelops her friends. I always feel happy after I visit Eva.
Melayne from http://lessapathymorecake.blogspot.com (I know- it is supposed to be 3- but these 4 ladies have been so kind to me and I could not figure who to cut out!) Melayne is another artist that creates magic. I am so drawn to the whimsical and fun nature of her creations- and look what she has done to my blog! I would never have thought someone would capture the feeling I desired off of the small amount of info I gave her. This shows just how much we can learn about each other in blogging and how quickly we can form great friendships- I am soooo glad I found Melayne's blog:)
Thank you for being my friend ladies- I love all of you!!!! I wish I could have passed this award on to sooo many more people- a lot more come to mind instantly. If you are not on this list please know that I probably wanted you to be :)
Silk Purse from http://theplumedpen.blogspot.com/ is our hostess- visit her blog to see others joining in on the party:) I have to fess up on this tuesday and admit that I did not plan anything for tea for two-in fact I almost forgot! This picture is of two little teacups I found in a thrift store. They usually sit on a ledge in my bathroom and once in awhile when I buy fresh flowers I pop a few of the shorter flowers in these teacups for a little shot of sunshine in the bathroom. I love the little retro daisies on these- wish I could find more of them!
Here is a fun fact about green tea I found--one cup of green tea has nearly three times the antioxidants as an apple! Drinking green tea is very good for you- especially if you are trying to keep colds away! I like green tea- but my favorite is still my black cinammon flavored tea.
Have a wonderful day- I'm off to see if I can find any kind of a treat in the lunchroom to have with my tea:)
I have new followers to welcome today!!! I have reached over 100 followers today and I would like to say to everyone that I am so grateful to have met all of you! I adore my blog so much- I cannot imagine going back to not blogging. I have met so many incredible people and I have received so much kindness- I am very, very grateful. Since I have started blogging I have even changed my attitude a bit. Now, when I feel down and I feel like complaining I think to myself "is that something I would like to blog about and have people read?" Believe it or not, blogging has improved my attitude and even spurred me on to try to finish projects! So, lets meet some new people, shall we?
Kim from http://kimsminiatures.blogspot.com/ and http://itsaminiaturelifedolls.blogspot.com/ has stopped by. Many mini bloggers already know Kim. She creates the most amazing displays in miniature- lots of baking related things- and she is so excellent at this that if you visit her blog you may think you are visiting a real bakery. I've been reading her blog for awhile (I don't comment often Kim) and I have to say also that she is one of the kindest and warmest bloggers you will meet. I am so happy you visited me Kim, thank you for stopping by!
I was also visited by Nuri from http://mininuris.blogspot.com/ Nuri is from Spain and is interested in dollhouse miniatures too. She is fairly new to blogging and is working on a Rome Shabby Chic dollhouse. She is in the process of making roof tiles from tongue depressors- so much work- but should look so sweet with all the little rounded edge tiles! So nice to meet you Nuri! Good luck on your roof- I cannot wait to see pictures of your progress :)
My hubby and I have been working on the remodeling of our bedroom- but I did manage to sneak in some mini time last weekend and change the window in my dollhouse flower shop. I was going to put little pumpkins and bones on the shelves in the skinny window- but I burned the pumpkins to a crisp(not again, I have not had time to try again since that disaster happened) so I just have one little paperclay pumpkin that I made for the display. I followed a tutorial from the internet, but I cannot figure out where I found it! The pumpkin in the skeleton's lap is actually hollow and the face is carved- what fun this was to make!!!! I hope to add more Halloween decor next year- I just ran out of time for everything this year and my mind is already moving on to how I can decorate my dollhouse for christmas. I have never decorated the dollhouse for christmas before- this should be really fun!! Anyways, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
Remember my rug that I kind of messed up? Well, I stuck with it and I finished it and you really cannot even tell a few stitches are off. Big thanks to Casey from http://caseymini.blogspot.com/ and Tiffany from http://minimischief.blogspot.com for their help as I was working on this. I am already thinking of my next needlepoint project- I actually really enjoyed working on this. Here's a pic of the rug almost finished and another picture of the rug in the living room. Bernard the Bear is thinking he needs a welcome mat for his front door now :)
Suzan from http://kankadolls.blogspot.com/ Suzan is a paper mache artist that creates dollhouse dolls, miniatures and puppets. She has lots of pictures of her fabulous artwork, as well as tutorial on making a sweet little wire mini chair. Thank you for visiting Suzan!
Next is http://beitesoriboutiqueblog.blogspot.com/ This lady is a children's artist and her blog is full of the most adorable hand painted items for your child or baby's room. If I had children, I would totally be shopping with her. My favorite is the bear in the wilderness theme. Thank you for stopping by!
Maia from http://maiastwinkleminiatures.blogspot.com/ has also stopped by to visit me. I love Maia's blog! Maia is a miniature artist and she creates the most darling items. Shadowboxes, music boxes, books, mini stationary and more- so sweet! Her website is http://maiastwinkleminiatures.com/shop/ if you would like to have a look for yourself. Maia- I have admired your work since I saw your first shadowbox and I am so pleased you stopped by!
Last, but not least, is http://dollsetc.blogspot.com/ She is working on a miniature conservatory, and she is a mini doll artist. If you go backwards a bit in her blog you will see some of her amazing work.
I am so glad to meet all of you and thank you for stopping by:)
I love it so much- I really cannot believe that she has produced something so very much my style just by the little info that I gave to her. I told Melanye what colors that I liked, told her the type of style I am attracted to and she came up with my new blog from that info. I have been telling her in email for a couple days that I love it, but I don't think I could tell her enough times.
So, what do you think of my new blog? If you love it please comment and shower Melanye with compliments for me because this was awesome of her to help me and it would be great to shower her with some love :)
A little note- I have new followers to welcome- I will be back later today to welcome them- I promise I have not forgotten you- just have been trying to stay away from the blog and let Melanye work her magic :)
Silk Purse from http://theplumedpen.blogspot.com/ is our lovely hostess. Please visit her blog to see who else is enjoying tea today and say hello to her. This picture is one of my mini tea sets. It is not dollhouse scale- the teapot is about 2 inches high. This might be my favorite tea set- but then again I change my mind often! Madeline sure is cute though, isn't she?
Here is a sweet little quote from the book "Steeped In Tea" by Diana Rosen:
"Ecstasy is a glass full of tea and a piece of sugar in the mouth."- Alexander Pushkin (circa 1830)
I am off to have my daily pot of cinnamon tea- hope your day is lovely!!♥♥♥
I have a little story to post today. It's short. It's also a lesson learned. I have felt crazy stressed out lately. So much I need to finish and take care of and somehow not as many hours in the day as I need. Sunday I decided that I was going to rebel. I said "blast it" to the housework, to the letters I have half finished, to the christmas things I should be working on if I wish to finish them on time, to the hubby that wanted to work on remodeling the bedroom some more. I said "NO!". I will take some time and I will do some fun things- play with the clay that I always wish to play with but don't want to make a big mess for only a small amount of play time. I went up to my craft room and I dug out all my clay and I made some cute little pumpkins. Then I decided that I wanted to make a Halloween display for the front window of the flower shop dollhouse so I made some more pumpkins and some gourds and a cute little flower arrangement in a skull. Anyone that has every worked with polymer clay knows about how long I worked on all of this cute little fall and Halloween decor. I popped them in the toaster oven at the temp on the package and ran downstairs to get a glass of ice water. I bet you know what I am going to tell you. When I went into the kitchen my husband was peeling apples for applesauce so I stopped to help him. I promptly forgot about the toaster oven. I BURNED the be-geezus out of all those cute little creations- beyond salvageable- and I had to take a sheet and block off the upstairs and open all of the windows upstairs because burnt polymer clay fumes are NOT healthy for you. I had to close up all the heat vents (we have our heat on already-it's dang cold here in minnesota already) while holding a towel over my face and hoping I was not killing myself or damaging my lungs. Soooooooo............the lesson for me here is- if you are playing with clay DO NOT try to multi-task. I can laugh today, but sunday I was pretty close to tears. They were some dang cute pumpkins. Anyhow- since I have no mini fall display- here are the pumpkins on my front steps. Happy Fall :)
4. Name 7 things about yourself that no one would really know.
5. Nominate seven 'Kreativ Bloggers'
6. Post links to the seven blogs you nominate
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.
Seven things you may not know about me:
1. I was a floral designer for 20 years. Some days I miss it, but most days I am so happy to have a different life now.
2. My husband is 14 years older than I am.
3. I have struggled with food my entire life. I can do really good for awhile, but when I feel life is spinning out of my control I always seem to turn to sugar and I often eat too much of it. It's an extremely hard cycle to break or get under control.
4. A lot of my family has died of cancer and so when I got skin cancer a year and a half ago I freaked out. I honestly did not know that they could completely remove it and I would be healthy and fine. I am much more involved in my personal health now.
5 .I love, love, love to read, but I don't read often because I will ignore everything else in life until the book is finished. My house will fall down around me if it is a series!
6. I always have at least 15-20 projects that are started but not finished. For some reason this is the way I seem to work best- I think I have a short attention span. Sometimes I can finish 3 or 4 at the same time and then I tend to think I rock :) (even though they were half finished so that's technically cheating)
7. I am horrible at math. When I went to take the assesment test for school I was perfect in reading and english, but very below average on math. I don't know why, but number confuse me. This is probably why I struggle so hard with building dollhouse furniture and making things true to scale. I hope school will change this for me.
Whew- that was a bit hard this morning! Now I need to pass this along- which I hate. I always think there are too many blogs that deserve this award and I feel so limited. I have seen this award floating around, so I am going to see if I can find some people that have not recieved it.
1. Jessie at http://beyondbaffled.blogspot.com/ Jessie writes the cutest stories to go along with her posts about her dolls Miss Kitty, Sophie and Olive and their progress on building Miss Kitty's saloon. Jessie makes a lot of her own minis too and is very creative :)
4. Eva from http://prunellascreation.blogspot.com Eva is an artist that works in lots of different mediums. I am always excited to see what she has been creating and I love her stories more than I could ever say. Creativity spills from her.
5. Patricia from http://papillonbleuuk.blogspot.com Patricia makes the most magical little dolls and fabulous mini food in all scales. Visiting her blog is like a wonderful dream you never want to wake up from. Somedays I wish I could just live in her dollies world.
7. Laura from http://sunshineshangout.blogspot.com Laura does video blogs- so creative! I love to see her happy face telling me about what is up in her life and I treasure her for the way she always seems able to make me laugh. Cannot have enough friends that make you happy.
I could name so many more- every blog I follow is outstanding!
First, a welcome to Martam from http://martamsart.blogspot.com/ She makes the cutest keychains and cell phone charms, clay figures and crochet. Very talented! Nice to meet you!!
Next is Theresa from http://unstoppablespirit.blogspot.com/ Theresa is a teacher, and she is also living her life to the greatest benefit to her and others around her. When I say this I mean she is doing what she can to make herself as healthy as can be naturally, she is recycling, eating organic. She has a kitty named Ranger- and you know how I love cats :) Theresa's blog is very uplifting and interesting to read- I did not have the chance to read back very far yet, but I will be returning. Thank you for visiting me Theresa!! I look forward to getting to know you.
Christine is a miniaturist and an author. She has the cutest little halloween dollhouse witch on her first blog- so sweet! The fatal foodies blog looks like she has included some fun food facts and recipes here and there. Of course, I have to follow. Love to try to cook new things!
Kiva is a dollhouse miniature artist that specializes in ethnic food and other bizarre minis (I stole that right from her profile- but what a good description!) Anyhow- if you love minis you have to check her out- if you go backwards in her blog you will see grilled cheese sandwiches that look good enough to eat and since I am new to mini making I love the post a bit farther back from the sandwiches that shows the tools she uses to work with when making minis.
Thank you everyone for visiting me- I am so glad to meet you all and I apologize for my lateness in welcoming you all!
I have a fondness for owls-I'm not really sure where it came from but I suspect that they remind me of my grandma. I have few memories of childhood, but I remember she used to wear large costume jewelry owls when I was a child and owls always make me think of her. When I saw Julia's little needlepoint owls on her blog http://bearcabinminiatures.blogspot.com/ I knew I had to have something with an owl on it from her for my dollhouse. I purchased this wonderful little owl tapestry- it is even more beautiful in real life- wish I could pass it around like show in tell in grade school. I decided that it was so special it should hang in the bedroom of Hans and Rose's apartment above their shops. Thank you Julia- I truly love it! If you would like to see more of Julia's work please visit her Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6814727 There is lots of great items to drool over :)
I have been given a couple of blog awards that I need to catch up on too- how does a person get so behind so quickly ??
Thank you to Doreen from http://doreensminiatures.blogspot.com/ for the "This blog is a dream" award.
I am grateful for everyone that follows my blog and gifts me with awards- I cannot imagine my life without the blogging community now :)
The rules are:
1. Show the image of the award, and state rules.
2. Post the link of the person that gave you the prize.
3. Display 10 blogs to which you grant the award.
4. Advise the blogs listed
I think that every single blog I follow is magical and dreamy. I wish I could pass it along to everyone- so hard to choose.
1. Laura at http://sunshineshangout.blogspot.com/ Laura was one of the first people in blogland to become my friend - she is funny and I love her video blogs-something I would never be brave enough to do :) Love ya girl!
2. Patricia at http://papillonbleuuk.blogspot.com Patricia's blog truly is dreamy and magical to me. She encourages me to dream and to play and I always feel happy when I visit her.
3. Kathi at http://beautifulminiblessings.blogspot.com/ Kathi inspires me to try new things. I cannot believe how many mini items she makes herself and she is never afraid to attempt something- she just jumps right in. I love the beachy, fresh feel of her blog too.
4. Minna from http://minnasdollhouses.blogspot.com/ Minna is a very patient email friend of mine(I am always behind and late) and her blog is dreamy. I love how she kind she is by sharing her needlepoint and printies with us and tutorials.
5. Mary from http://mizmaryminis.blogspot.com/ Mary is on a bit of a blog break right now- but I love her kindness and her magical houses (many inspired by Harry Potter).
6. Claudia from http://mockingbirdhillcottage.blogspot.com/ Claudia has the most beautiful blog. I envy her--I still cannot quite figure out how to add a free background to my blog- let alone all the lovely touches Claudia has. I have said this before, but I will repeat it again. I like to read Claudia's blog because everything is so very pretty and the posts always make me smile or give me inspiration.
7. Kibbygirl at http://thefrugaldollhouseaddict.blogspot.com I look forward to her posts about what she has found when out thrifting and how sharing and kind she is. This is another one of my very first blogging friends and I am grateful to know her :)
8. Cathy at http://thefabulousfarmhouse.typepad.com I adore Cathy's mini creations and I also adore her. I love to read about her hometown, her struggles and triumphs with her garden and what fabulous new creations are coming up in her shop.
9. Melanye from http://lessapathymorecake.blogspot.com/ Melanye has the cutest doggy that gets blog time, she has the cutest product line ever and now she is making mini cakes- dreamy to the max!!! When I visit Melanye I always laugh or sigh in contentment or covet what she has featured.
10. Amy at http://ponderandstitch.blogspot.com/ Amy has the most creative posts- she always shares what she is reading (which I love!) and her creations are also sooo beautiful. Amy creates magic with a needle and thread and her words.
11. Dani at http://theweirdworldofdani.web-log.nl/mijn_weblog/ Dani is my artful penpal (another thing I am behind on- sorry Dani!) and she is also an artist. Dani's blog reminds me that I have a mixed media artist inside of me that has not been let out in a long time. I love Dani's artwork- it transports me to a place of happiness and so does she :)
I had to add that last one--10 was too hard. I guess I will save the other award for tomorrow- I am sure I will get distracted visiting all these blogs to say hello and inform them they have an award :)
What a lovely blog she has. I headed over to her blog from a link on theminifoodblog.blogspot.com and I am so glad that I did. Who could not love someone that posts in their profile that they love dollhouses, gardening and Gastronomic Pleasures with a Passion for trying Local Cuisines(this is not all that interests her- but what made her awesome in my eyes♥) I adore the mini gourd and jack-o-lantern table she just created and she has pictures posted of a trip to Austria that make me long to travel. So beautiful. If you keep reading back in her blog you will see some amazing teapots she has made- and an adorable kitty.
Roberta also makes miniature food- her orange marmalade prep board is amazing! She also has a motorbike garage scene she created as a gift for someone that is so cool! Roberta loves kitties too- which makes her wonderful in my eyes.
Anama is a miniature artist also. She has had an adorable little shop room for little girls published in Miniatures Magazine recently. So cute! Tiny little coats, backpacks, shop bags, hats, dollies- you have to take a look! There are a lot of amazing miniature books she has created also.
Julia makes wonderful creations in needlepoint and fabric and the sweetest little bears and other creatures. I think her hubby mostly works on the houses that they sell, but I could be wrong. Julia also posted a tutorial a few posts back for dollhouse trays. The instructions are easy to follow, and what cute little trays! I just received a needlepoint hanging that I purchased from Julia that I will be posting about tomorrow. Forgot the camera again! I'll post about that tomorrow- too sweet, you'll see.
I think these are the latest followers- if I have missed someone would you please let me know? It gets hard to keep track sometimes when blogger adds people to the end or middle of the list instead of the front. Thank you for visiting me ladies! So very nice to meet all of you!!!!
Hello! It is snowing here in Minnesota, USA today! Can you believe! They say it will be 60 degrees by sunday- so it is temporary- but brrrrrrr! I guess this is my wake up call because I had been putting off the last of the outdoor tasks that need to be done before winter. I will be doing my work this weekend for sure!
I spent most of the weekend peeling, cutting and dry packing apples for freezing. I am grateful for the apples to use all winter. I am also grateful to be nearing the end of putting away food. How fortunate I am to have had such a successful garden this year. We shall be eating healthy food this winter :) I did manage to work just a couple hours on Bernard's house. I started his kitchen island. Bernard's house is 1/2" scale, but my furnishings are turning out a bit large for the scale. They fit Bernard though, which is what matters the most to me. I do not think I shall be switching to 1/2" permanently though! Anyhow- here is the start to Bernard the Bear's kitchen. Much more work to be done, but I am pleased with the start.
Bernard looks ready to serve up some treats to visitors, doesn't he? Not too sure about my paint job on the upper cabinets- might be changing my mind there. I can't decide if I should shabby them up, or what I should do- any good tips or ideas?
On another note- my needlepoint rug for the 1/12th scale dollhouse is almost done!!!!! Hopefully there shall be pictures of it in the living room of the dollhouse soon! Of course, Bernard has already put a couple of orders in so I guess I should not put that needlepoint needle away any time soon :)
Bernard is quite jealous of all the Panda Prince's new girlfriends that he lives with, but he is setting that jealousy aside to say welcome and so glad you had a safe journey. Do you like cake Panda Prince? Bernard sure does :)
1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
I think that a lot of people that I read have this award, so I pass this award on to everyone out there that I comment on- I love all of your blogs and I can't imagine how boring my life would be without blogging friends:)
I recently had a bit of a spending spree. I usually try to save and be frugal, but once in awhile I have a small bout of rebellion. I bought one last thing today and now I think I HAVE to stop. The mad money is more than gone and I need to go back to saving- LOL. Anyhow, one of my purchases was from Cathy at http://thefabulousfarmhouse.typepad.com Cathy makes the most wonderful treats in miniature. I have a lot of her creations in my bakery. If you need treats for your dollhouse please check her out- she makes cakes, cupcakes, candies, mini cards and wrapping paper and handmade display furniture. You can find her store here: https://www.thefabulousfarmhouse.com/
I needed two little bags of candy to finish the hanging candy rack in my bakery- my fave is still the peeps :)
I also ordered some Halloween cookies and cupcakes from Cathy- they are on the front counter. Sooo cute- wish you could see the little jack-o-lantern faces better. I bought 2 cupcakes with little red flowers that fit perfectly in the last two small cake domes on the counter- and Cathy sent me a free gift of some little holiday cards. The Halloween card is on the front counter with the Halloween treats- I'll show you the christmas cards when I decorate at christmas time. Thank you so much Cathy- I am always so in love with everything that you create and ---once again---- you are awesome and you rock!!!
Last weekend, in between sewing projects, I worked a bit on some stools for Bernard the Bear's house. I am going to make the first floor of his house into one great room with a combo living room area and kitchen. I don't really want to devote room to a dining room, so Bernard is eventually going to have an island with kitchen cupboards on one side and an overhanging counter on the other side where he eats. I started working on stools for the island- even though I don't have the island built yet. I might regret that- we'll see. Anyhow, here is what they looked like before I started- from a 1/2" scale kit of simple furniture.
I cut off the bottoms- because I want them to be stools. I also cut off the arms and trimmed them up a bit. Then I cut a golf tee down and glued that to a small scrap of basswood. After that had dried I glued the golf tee to the bottom of the stool and then I added some paper clay to smooth things out a bit. Now I have to sand them up- whittle at them with the xacto knife to make them match a bit more and decide if I want to go through the process again with one or two more. Bernard likes them so far- but he is reserving final approval until he sees them with the island. He is such a picky bear.
She is an artist and she also runs a bed and breakfast. Silk Purse also runs the Tea for Two Tuesday's in my previous post. If you read back in her blog a bit you can see her dressing room and it is outstanding! Her entire blog is simply magical and wonderful. Thank you for reading my blog Silk Purse- I am so happy to have met you!
Good evening! I am joining in on Tea For Two Tuesday this evening. The Plumed Pen holds a blogging tea party every tuesday! I love tea- especially as the leaves start to fall and the weather gets cold. My favorite tea is a dark, spicy tea- I really love if it includes cinammon. Won't you join us for some evening tea? Click here to read more.
Julia over at Bear Cabin Miniatures is having a Halloween competition. If you have a dollhouse, or just really love cute little dollhouse sized pillows and love Halloween you have to visit and enter. It's not too hard - just post a small Halloween poem and try to find Nigel the mouse in the picture she has posted. You know you want to enter- just go on over there and do it! Here's the link:
Vicky is an amazing polymer clay miniature artist. She makes some of the most realistic looking miniature food- there is a post on the first blog of a commission for a bowl of peas being shelled that I find amazing- especially the little shelled pods! The secong blog listed is full of hints and tips when working with polymer clay- great place to visit and learn some new tricks!! Vicky's website is listed as the third link- where you can learn more about Vicky, buy her amazing creations and see pictures of past work. I am so glad you visited Vicky! I am very happy to meet you and I love all of your blogs/websites!
I think my cats have the right idea today. I'm seriously considering joining them- although I have to go pick the hubby up from the shuttle he took to get down to the airport and back in half an hour, so maybe I'll wait till I get back from that. It is rainy and cold again today in Minnesota and all the cats are napping.
Here is my male cat Poopie:
Here is one of the females Henry(I thought she was a boy when we got her- I also call her Purr Purr because she purrs constantly)
Here is my other female cat Latte. I found her as a stray at a coffee shop and somehow she came to live at my house. Doesn't she look like a little princess on top of the cushions?
Hope your Sunday is as wonderful as ours!!! I'm off to get my hubby- he has been gone for a week and I have really, really missed him!!
I was going to play with clay today- but I was sidetracked. I went out to the kitchen to do the dishes I left last night and that somehow turned into cleaning the cupboards and the fridge. After that I decided to dig out my sewing machine and sew the top of the duvet cover for our bed. I could not finish because I did not have enough fabric for the back, but the front is done and that was the hardest because I wanted 3 different colors and I am not the greatest at getting things measured and sewn straight. After I sewed it up I had to put it across the bed with a few of the pillows I have done to see what it looks like. I am pretty pleased. I still can't believe that my bedroom is going to finally look pretty! Anyhow- now I am checking email real quick and then I think I will work on some bar stool chairs for Bernard's house. I plan to make him a kitchen island with stools on one side like a breakfast bar. Hope your Saturday is as awesome as mine!
I have had a really, really long week. Work has been crazy busy and I have a test coming up in school so I have been studying too. My hubby is out of town at a business meeting and every night he has called to brag about how awesome his hotel is, how awesome the food they are eating is, the cool places he has visited. I have tried really, really hard not to be jealous and to be enthusiastic about his fun time- even though a trip to Nashville is on my wish list and I would really have liked to go. Each night his bragging gets a little more intense and "nyah-nyah" like. Well....today I giggle at his expense. Tonight my hubby has to go to Fuse Nightclub. Here is the link:
Anyhow...the reason I am giggling:
1. My hubby is 54 years old.
2. My hubby wears jeans and a t-shirt almost exclusively and hates to dress up.(there is a dress code)
3. My hubby does not like music and could not tell you who Lady GaGa, Kayne West, Black Eyed Peas, or anyone like that was. (there is a DJ-which I assume means pop music, not country)
4. My hubby does NOT drink alcohol. Ever.
5. My hubby does NOT dance. Ever.
6. I could beg for a year and the hubby would never go somewhere like this with me.
I guess that he should not have been so nasty about me not being able to come with on this trip. I could have handled this one for him-I would have no problem with Fuse and I love to dance. He could have stayed in his hotel room. Oh- I'm so nasty and mean, but ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - I hope someone takes pictures.
OK-evil Kim is done posting now- nice, sweet Kim will be doing the next post :)
Good Morning everyone! I have a new follower to welcome today- I am a bit late as I thought I would get a snappy picture made to welcome folks, but as you can see I did not finish that yet, so I am doing my welcome before too much more time passes.
Begoña has just started her blog- but her first post- oh my amazing!! Begoña is another dollhouse miniature enthusiast and she says she is a beginner- but her kitchen sink and counter she has posted is beautiful- I think I would like a real life version. Thank you for visiting me too Begoña-I look forward to seeing what you make next and I am very glad to meet you!
I have all day tomorrow alone- so I hope to spend it making some of the many, many mini projects I have been bookmarking for "later". It will be even better if it rains all day so I don't feel guilty for not being outside and putting all the garden things away and getting ready for the winter snows. Hope everyone has a fabulous day!!
