Garden pictures!

A few new flowers are slowly starting to open in the garden. I have been weeding like crazy since the rain we had earlier this week. I wish that the flowers would grow and perform as well and reliably as the weeds do! My hubby had just mowed the grass before the rain and it already needs mowing again! I have some pictures of the perennial bachelor buttons, the painted daisies (I think their real name is pyrethrum?), some yellow iris that are in the garden in front of my house and some bearded iris. The dark bearded iris is a cross between maroon and brown and very stunning in person. Hope your day is sunny wherever you are!

How lush and pretty! I love those magenta flowers...are those the bachelor buttons?

Mary- thank you! I love my garden so much:) The bachelor buttons are the little blue flowers in the last picture. I call the magenta flowers painted daisies, but I think their real name is pyrethrum. I love them too- they are so cheerful!

I love the daisies! But, I love daisies big time so I'm bound to be impressed by them. Everything looks so great. The irises are absolutly lovely. I wish I could see them in person. :)
Don't come to my blog! There's nothing to see there. *bats eyelashes*

I'm having that problem this week too- if some of my flowers had not opened I wouldn't have had anything to post either. I just got done with a bad batch of "I don't feel like doing anything". Hopefully I will be more productive the rest of this week. Maybe I'll just go and look at that pic of you kissing your game- cuz that one sure made me smile!

Beautiful.

I adore bachelor buttons...I planted some seeds in a pot earlier this year and they have grown wild. I wish they weren't so spindly though...they blow over and break so easily.

I am even thinking of making some mini ones I love them so much...especially the cornflower blues.

I love the painted daisies. That is what I call them too.We also have had a lot of rain and not much sun. The flowers here are just starting to open up little by little. The flowers that I bought this year and planted are coming along slowly. I guess it is almost time for me to take some more pictures too.

Ooh pretty! I wish your blog had smell-o-vision. ;-)

Jayne,
I am going to see if I can save some seeds for you! These bachelor buttons are a perennial and they have lush full leaves and very thick stems. I'll try to post a close up picture for you tomorrow. If they will grow in your zone you will love them- they are very sturdy!

Doreen,
I think your climate must be very very similar to mine. We have been cooler than usual here this year and my flowers are coming along sooooo slow- I would usually have more to share by now! Please do post more pictures- you know I love them!!

Kat,
I wish my blog had smell-o-vison too, but even more I wish you were all close enough to come for a tour in person! What fun that would be!

Hi Kim

Yes they grow well here but mine are really spindly and not at all sturdy.

Perhaps it is because i just threw the seeds in the pot and left them.

I didn't split the tiny plants like it said to.

What do you do with them once all the flowers have died off ? I was just going to throw the whole lot in the trash...I am a useless gardener lol.
